Mini Guide: Prague Top Things to Do

January 16, 2024

My first trip to Prague was over a summer weekend when the temperatures hit close to 90 degrees Fahrenheit and we were in a hotel with only a small fan (don’t count on finding AC in Europe). Despite sweating through the first day, Prague quickly became a special spot for me. It’s affordable, walkable, and filled with great food and drinks. When we lived in Germany, it was just around a two-hour drive from Nuremberg, so it was easy to make a weekend trip there. Here are some of my Prague top things to do.

Where to Eat in Prague:

The food and drink scene in Prague is great. From hearty traditional food to American-inspired brunch spots (when you live in Europe, this is a treat) there’s a lot to discover. Here’s where to eat in Prague

  • Crazy Daisy Bar for unique cocktails

  • Restaurace Kantyna for amazing beef

  • Venue Praha for the best brunch

  • Joystick Arcade Bar for drinks and games

  • Point Gallery for gin drinks

  • Eat on a barge on the river at Manu or Marina Ristorante - note that the latter is cash only

  • Traditional food at Kuchyn Na Hrade

  • Amazing meat, especially pastrami, at Nase Mayo

  • Have an open-face sandwich and a delicious pastry Bistro Sisters

  • Be a tourist and have a trdelník with ice cream

  • Have a rooftop drink at Terasa Au Prince

  • Drink a Pilsner, the local beer. You can even take a trip to the Pilsner Urquell brewery, an hour outside the city

Prague TOP Things to do

  • Go on a free walking tour with Sandemans

  • Take an electric boat cruise with Prague boats

  • Go inside the tower over the Charles bridge

  • Walk around the free portion of Prague Castle and then go to the Senate Gardens, which are free

  • Stroll the streets of the Malá Strana neighborhood

Where to Stay in Prague

Stay at NYX Hotel Prague for a central and cheap stay or Hotel Klárov for amazing views and musically themed rooms.
